Baron des Tours Médoc, Bordeaux, France. Alc vol: 12.50%

2 x Baron des Tours Médoc, Bordeaux, France. Alc vol: 12.50%

This ripe and fleshy Médoc has plenty of fruits of the forest flavours, with a delicate, perfumed aroma and a smooth-textured palate offering subtle savoury, spicy notes. A light touch of oak adds a bit of structure, but this wine is enormously juicy and approachable. It’s a stylish and elegant partner for roasts or the cheeseboard.

Château Lalande d'Auvion Médoc, Bordeaux , France. Alc vol: 13.50%

2 x Château Lalande d'Auvion Médoc, Bordeaux , France. Alc vol: 13.50%

Owned by the Bénillan family for six generations, this is a small property with a traditional approach to winemaking. The current owner, Céline Bénillan, creates this wine, which is full of soft bramble fruit character with gentle toastiness from oak ageing. Pair with a Sunday roast, gourmet sausages or pan-fried duck breast.

Esprit de Puisseguin, Puisseguin Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux , France. Alc vol: 13.00%

2 x Esprit de Puisseguin, Puisseguin Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux , France. Alc vol: 13.00%

Located to the northeast of Bordeaux, the well-regarded Saint-Émilion vineyards overlook the Dordogne river and are an officially recognised Unesco World Heritage Site. This is a juicy Merlot-based blend from the small commune of Puisseguin, which offers great value. This wine is a perfect match for a chicken casserole.

Dourthe Réserve Montagne Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux , France. Alc vol: 13.50%

2 x Dourthe Réserve Montagne Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux , France. Alc vol: 13.50%

An excellent-value, soft-textured claret from the Montagne Saint-Émilion region produced by the highly regarded négociant house of Dourthe. Flavours of ripe blueberry and blackberry fruit combine with savoury cedar notes in this wine, to great effect. Grilled red meats with caramelised roasted vegetables would be a fantastic match.

Château Queyret-Pouillac Bourdeaux Supérieur Bourdeaux, France. Alc vol: 13.5%

2 x Château Queyret-Pouillac Bourdeaux Supérieur Bourdeaux, France. Alc vol: 13.5%

Full-bodied Bourdeaux Supérieur from the Entre-Deux-Mers region, where the winemaking history stretches back to the Middle Ages. Ideal with grilled meat or blue cheese.

Château la Croix de Marbuzet Saint-Estèphe. Alc vol: 13.00%

2 x Château la Croix de Marbuzet Saint-Estèphe. Alc vol: 13.00%

A delicious Saint-Estèphe that punches well above its weight. Ripe and elegant with structure and poise, this superb wine has good breadth of berry fruits on the nose, with lifted coffee and cedar wood notes. The palate has a firm, dark berry core with suggestions of cinnamon and black pepper bound together by fine, supple tannins.
